New Wine Saturdays!

We’ve got a new wine situation… and it’s a good problem to have!

There are so many brand-new Mercury wines that I simply can’t pour them all on our regular tasting menu. So, I decided to create something fun…

Introducing New Wine Saturdays!

On select Saturdays, we’ll feature a rotating lineup of my newest releases, including one very special wine that you won’t normally find on the tasting bar.

Saturday, August 1 • 11 AM – 5 PM

  • NEW Sonoma County Blanc de Noir Brut Sparkling (only 44 cases produced. Yes, my sparkling is back)! Made in the traditional method with 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.

  • NEW 2025 Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc

  • NEW 2019 Sunset Red GSM Blend

  • NEW 2024 Alexander Valley Old Vine Zinfandel

Saturday, August 22 • 11 AM – 5 PM

  • NEW Sonoma County Blanc de Noir Brut Sparkling

  • NEW 2025 Alexander Valley Viognier

  • NEW 2022 Russian River Pinot Noir

  • NEW Poco Dolce Lot III - Late Harvest, Fortified Tempranillo

Saturday, September 12 • 11 AM – 5 PM

  • NEW Sonoma County Blanc de Noir Brut Sparkling

  • NEW 2025 Alexander Valley Dry Gewürztraminer

  • NEW 2022 Sonoma Mountain Equinox Oaks Pinot

  • And, just for fun… the always-popular 2021 Rocket!

You may have noticed the sparkling wine appears on all three Saturdays. That’s because we produced just 44 cases, and rather than pour it every day, we’re making it a special feature available only during these New Wine Saturdays. Once it’s gone… it’s gone.

Make your reservations, gather a few friends, and come spend the day with us tasting some of the newest wines to come out of the Mercury cellar. I think you’re going to love what we’ve been working on.

Hope to see you soon!
Cheers, Brad

17th Annual CRU Blending Party!

Believe it or not, we’re getting close to the main event, so it’s time to start making plans. Never been to one? Click here for a little primer!

The 2026 Mercury Blending Party is set for Saturday, September 26, from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and if you’ve been before, you already know this is the one everyone waits for.

This is our biggest event of the year. It’s exclusive to Mercury Wine, and there isn’t another event quite like it anywhere in wine country.

The rivalries will be renewed. The competition will be fierce. The wine will be flowing. And yes… The Paella Guy is coming back.

We’ll have fantastic food, great wine, plenty of laughs, and the chance to spend the day with your fellow Mercury Wine club members who travel in from all over the country for this event.

This year’s Blending Party will be held at Oriental Hall, located just 1.25 miles east of the Mercury tasting room in the heart of Alexander Valley.

Whether you’re defending your title, looking for redemption, or just coming for the pie and wine, you won’t want to miss it.

CRU Club Members, RSVP now by email.

We’ll be sharing more details as we get closer, but for now, save the date and reserve your spot.

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM | Check-In & Warm-Up

Check in, grab a glass, and settle in.

We’ll have last year’s winning blend open for tasting along with a few new Mercury releases. Enjoy charcuterie, nibbles, and a chance to size up the competition. This is also a great time to meet your fellow blenders and discuss your strategy… or intentionally mislead them.

1:00 PM | Blending Begins

Take your seats.

Brad will lead a tasting of the barrel samples you’ll be working with, discuss the strengths of each wine, and share a few blending tips before turning you loose to create your masterpiece.

2:00 PM – 2:30 PM | Turn In Your Blend

When you’ve perfected your recipe, turn it in to the Mercury team.

While we recreate the competition wines, lunch will be served.

3:30 PM | First Round of Judging

The wines from your table will be poured and presented.

Taste, judge, and vote for your favorite blend. Table champions advance.

4:00 PM | Second Round of Judging

The table winners go head-to-head.

Taste, debate, and vote again as the field narrows.

4:30 PM | Championship Round

The bracket winners face off in the final showdown.

Two wines enter. One wine leaves victorious.

5:00 PM | Crowning the Champion

Votes are counted, the champion is announced, and bragging rights are awarded.

We’ll celebrate the winner, console the losers, enjoy a final glass of wine with friends, and send everyone home happy.

BRAD & JIM - LIVE!

We’ve been having a little too much fun with the Brad & Jim show… so we figured, why not do it live?

And this time, you’re invited to be part of the studio audience.

Brad & Jim Show – LIVE Saturday, June 6, 2026 3:00 – 5:00 PM
At J. Rickards Winery

Here’s where it gets interesting…

We’re not just pouring wine, we’re putting it to the test.

Each dish will be paired with two different wines, and you get to decide which wine pairs best, or both!

It’s all about great food, great wine, and a little friendly debate!

What I’m Pairing: I’ll be featuring a couple of brand-new favorites:

* 2025 Sauvignon Musqué

* 2022 Russian River Pinot Noir

Paired with grilled salmon and asparagus - clean, fresh, and just about perfect for summer. And I’ll also be pouring a couple more for you to taste: 2023 Freddie Rosé and 2021 Sonoma County Zinfandel

What Jim’s Pairing: Jim’s bringing something a little richer to the table:

• Gewürztraminer

• Sémillon

Paired with stuffed pork tenderloin - bold, flavorful, and a great contrast to my lineup.

What to Expect:

• New releases + old favorites.

• Thoughtful food pairings.

• Plenty of laughs, opinions, and “aha” moments.

• A laid-back afternoon that still feels a little elevated.

The Details:

• $35 per person

• Includes tastings + food pairings

• Plus, you’ll receive a $5 credit toward any wine purchase (Because good decisions should be rewarded).

Spots will be limited, this is a “studio audience” after all… so if you want in, just reply to Jim’s email reservations@jrwinery.com

It’s always better with friends!
