The Quicksilver boom of the 19th century brought thousands of people in search of an easy dollar to the rugged and rich-soiled regions of California north of San Francisco. Few of them found the riches they sought in the mercury mines but some stayed on, inspired by the beauty of the Alexander Valley to seek a living by a harder, more rewarding means–farming.
In this roundabout way, it was Mercury, The Messenger, who brought wine to Geyserville. At Mercury Wines, we’re carrying on that tradition.
