Mercury Wine Club members flew in from all over the country for a weekend long PARTY, culminating in an afternoon of wine blending in one of the most beautiful vineyards in the Alexander Valley, where 45 winemaking teams competed to get their name on the 7th incarnation of our MERCURY CRU Blend.
The color is a deep, dark ruby, with a nose of black currant with a touch of caramel cream.
On the palate, complex cherries start you off with a touch of mineral, then spice and gentle hints of oak coming out on the mid, enhancing the silky-smooth mouth feelthat leads to a bright cherry finish, with hints of earthy spice.
You can taste why this one was the winner!
Winning CRU members get their names on the bottle and they can truly call themselves award-winning winemakers!
Cheers to the sixth CRU blending party winners Brian and Erin Lilly!
