The Quicksilver boom of the 19th century brought thousands of people in search of an easy dollar to the rugged and rich-soiled regions of California north of San Francisco. Few of them found the riches they sought in the mercury mines, but some stayed on in the Alexander Valley to seek a living by a harder, more rewarding means – farming.
In a roundabout way, it was mercury that brought wine to Geyserville. At Mercury Wines, we carry on a tradition of exploration, hard work and reward.
Mercury Wines specializes in estate-bottled Bordeaux-style blends, small-lot Pinot Noirs and esoteric white wines. We grow all five Bordeaux varietals in the Alexander Valley and we source grapes from other interesting vineyards, locally and elsewhere in California.
